"Get involved and make a difference in a child's life," states Deni Jacobs, long time supporter of Educational Enrichment Systems (EES).
And what a difference the annual EES Holiday Gifts event made to over 1,100 children! Bill and Lori Walton, as well as other generous Friends of EES, helped bring smiles to the faces of many children who might have gone without during the Holidays. We were honored to cover this event and share in joy felt by all.
About 750 million pounds of cranberry, 2.4 billion pounds of sweet potatoes and 248 million turkeys are produced in the United States each year for Thanksgiving.
However, even with all this food, many low-income families are still unable to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with their family. It's for this reason that Educational Enrichment Systems (EES) created the Thanksgiving Baskets event.
Jeff and Deni Jacobs, along with other compassionate volunteers, assembled Thanksgiving Baskets to provide for EES families. As always, it was our great pleasure to record this touching, annual event and pay witness to the true spirit of the Holidays.
For the past several years we've excited to be chosen by the SDBJ to create vignettes honoring the 10 fastest growing privately held companies in San Diego.
Last week we had a great time at the reception honoring the top 100 companies, held on the rooftop deck at the Westgate hotel downtown. The event included a speech by San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders and was followed up by great food, beer by Stone Brewery and great conversation, of course ending with the videos we worked hard to produce.
Congratulations to all 100 companies, here are the top 10 videos:
10. PayLease
9. Service Now
8. La Vita Compounding Pharmacy
7. Coast Flight Training
6. Pure Financial Advisors
5. Integrity First Financial
4. Ludus Tours
3. Eventful
2. Nordic Construction
1. Underground Elephant

Bill Walton Supports EES Pre-Schoolers at End of the Year Celebration
Smiles were plentiful as family and friends of Pre-Schoolers from Educational Enrichment Systems (EES) celebrated their end of the year transition to Kindergarden. Long time supporters of this incredible non-profit organization, Bill Walton and his wife Lori, were also in attendance. Generously donated backpacks were handed out, filled with supplies to prepare the kids for Kindergarden.
It's easy for us to see the value in online video. Yes, we're biased...we're a Video Production company. But, a powerful article written by the San Diego Union Tribune only validates what we believe. Entitled, "Consider Adding Video to Digital Marketing Checklist", UT editor dispels some myths about Video Production and recommends putting Online Video Marketing on your marketing to-do list.
"Once deemed too expensive, and too slow in the pre-broadband era, video is rapidly gaining in popularity as a business tool. In fact, video capabilities was the fastest growing website feature for small business advertisers in 2009, with one in five hosting website video by the end of the year, according to a study release last year by Irvine based WebVisible."
"Video can be used to tell a story, provide product demos, and highlight happy customers. They can be hosted directly on your website or through numerous video platforms like YouTube."
"It's always good to get happy customers talking about your brand, and video testimonials are far more effective than written ones."
"The Web is no longer static - it's interactive, and video has become an increasingly popular form of content to engage and retain customs. Consider adding it to your digital marketing checklist."

This is an exciting year for the City of Chula Vista as they celebrate their Centennial. Enjoy a sneak peak of Monday's Centennial Concert at the new Chula Vista Performing Arts Theatre. Mayor Cheryl Cox and Turner Construction's Justin Maletic were proudly in attendance. This clip was created after the first performance at the request of Tommy Sablan from the Jeff & Jer show on Kyxy 96.5.
We are proud to announce that we've been presented with the San Diego Business Journal's Family-Owned & Closely Held Business Award.
This award, which aims to recognize and honor the accomplishments of San Diego County's family-owned and closely held businesses, was given to us in the Small Business category.
We are especially honored because we take great pride in being a small, family-owned company. Company owners, Bob and Tara Hoffman, have raised both their children in San Diego with a high degree of community involvement. They find their personal and business lives to overlap quite frequently. Many of their business clients have become friends and vice-versa. The principles upheld in their family are the same staples on which their business grows: honesty, integrity, commitment to excellence and a strong desire to better the community around them.
